Geocentric was established as an urban management and research consultancy which focuses on the implementation of urban regeneration and management initiatives including urban renewal projects such as City Improvement Districts.
We have been working with city improvement district initiatives since 2001 and assisted with the establishment of the very first improvement district in the Cape Town Central City where, some twelve years later we are still involved on a day-to-day basis with implementing projects and doing extensive urban research for the Cape Town inner city.
Geocentric gained much experience over the last 12 years with CID establishment and management and has consulted to many of the existing City Improvement Districts in Cape Town including the Central City Improvement District, Green Point CID, Oranje-Kloof CID, Sea Point CID, Woodstock CID, Claremont CID, Blackheath CID, Maitland CID, Voortrekker Road Corridor CID and the Muizenberg CID.
Geocentric has been involved with similar initiatives all over Cape Town and surrounding towns and has also assisted the business communities of the Breede Valley Municipality, the Theewaterskloof Municipality and the Grabouw Business Forum to initiate processes for their own improvement districts. Geocentric also assisted in the establishment of the Jonkershoek SRA in Stellenbosch.
Geocentric played a significant role acting as the establishment consultant for the Groote Schuur CID and was responsible for the establishment of the Voortrekker Road Corridor Improvement District, the Glosderry Improvement District, the Stikland Industrial Improvement District, the Strand Business Improvement District, the Brackenfell Business Improvement District, the Somerset West CBD City Improvement District, the Salt River Business Improvement District the Elsies River City Improvement District, Tygervalley Improvement District and the Beaconvale Industrial Improvement District.
